A Cilcennin man has been arrested along with four others after drugs raids in Lampeter, Cardiff and Swansea which uncovered £100,000 in cash, 55kg of cannabis and 1kg of cocaine.

On Monday, 6 September officers from Tarian, the Regional Organised Crime Unit for southern Wales, supported by officers from South Wales and Dyfed-Powys Police, executed a number of warrants at addresses across Cardiff, Swansea and Lampeter as part of an ongoing operation to tackle the supply of Class A drugs in southern Wales.

During the searches officers recovered around £100,000 in cash, around 1,000 cannabis plants, 55kg of cannabis, 1kg of cocaine and paraphernalia used in drugs operations including cash counting machines and industrial weighing scales.

Five people were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs following the raids and taken to Queen’s Road police station in Bridgend for questioning.

They included a 49-year-old man from Cilcennin, along with two 32-year-old men from Waunarlwydd, Swansea, a 37-year-old man from Penylan, Cardiff, and a 33-year-old man from Roath, Cardiff.
