A HELICOPTER rescued a man from a Ffestiniog slope after he found himself stuck on the side of a mountain.
Both Aberglaslyn and South Snowdonia Search and Rescue Teams were involved in saving the stricken climber from a Moelwyn mound on Saturday afternoon.
A spokesperson from the South Snowdonia Search and Rescue Team explained how the team were on their way back from marshalling another event when they were called for help.
“Just as we were packing up at Llyn Tegid after the Bala Challenge, the team received a request to assist Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team,” the spokesperson said.
“A male reported himself cragfast but uninjured at Craig Nyth y Gigfrân, Blaenau Ffestiniog.
“The team attended the scene but shortly after, Rescue 936 was able to winch the casualty on board and fly him a short distance to a safe landing site, where he was met by members of Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team and driven home.”
