A ROAD traffic collision has caused congestion in Aberystwyth.

The incident, involving a council road-sweeping vehicle, happened at the bottom of Cefn Llan at around 1pm.

Traffic has been blocked going up and down the hill, which links Penglais School with Llanbadarn, and on Primrose Hill which links Llanbadarn and Coleg Ceredigion.

Emergency services have attended the scene.

Dyfed-Powys Police have advised Penglais School that pupils will not be able to walk past the area and must find an alternative route.

Pupils will be able to walk as far as the churchyard entrance and can access Llanbadarn from there, the school said.
