Barmouth RNLI volunteers rescued an injured jet skier on Thursday.
The station’s D Class in-shore lifeboat Craig Steadman was tasked by the Coastguard to launch to the aid of the injured party.
In good visibility and slight seas, the inshore lifeboat with its volunteer crew Daryl James, Bob Vaughan and Russell Courtney at the helm, launched at 4.05pm to the north of Sunnysands Caravan Park to assist two people on the rocks.
On arriving at the scene, one of the jet skiers had returned unaided to the shore uninjured.
The second jet skier required assistance off the rocks as he was suffering pain to his hip area.
In difficult conditions, the casualty was rescued by two of the volunteer RNLI crew using a stretcher supplied by the supporting Coastguard team.
The rescue needed great care to ensure the safety of the casualty, crew and inshore lifeboat.
The rescue occurred off the rocks on an incoming tide with breaking surf.
The casualty was handed over to the Coastguard team and first responder to be checked over before the lifeboat returned to Barmouth boathouse at 4.50pm and was readied for service by 5.15pm.
