A MOTHER and daughter who were saved by volunteer crew members at Criccieth RNLI have returned to the station to thank their rescuers.
Katie Holmes and Mandy Francis were saved, along with three others and two dogs, on 25 August after becoming trapped by an incoming tide at Black Rock Sands.
Both Katie and Mandy, along with their dog Badger visited Criccieth RNLI station on 25 September to thank helmsman Gordon Emery and crew member Mick Howey in person.
During their visit, Katie said: “We will never forget the care and kindness shown to us by Gordon and Mick during the rescue. We will never forget that the RNLI saved our lives that day and we will be eternally grateful for their work.”
Following the visit, Criccieth lifeboat operation manager, Peter Williams said: “We appreciate the gratitude shown by Mandy and Katie. The crew have saved nine people off the same sandbank this summer alone.”
