Police have increased their presence in Penrhyndeudraeth due to an increase in reports of anti-social behaviour.

Officers have been carrying out high-visibility patrols to prevent further incidents and engage with young people about the impact this behaviour has on the community.

Over the weekend of 3 and 4 October, officers conducted patrols across the area, while members of the Neighbourhood Policing Team visited the families of those identified as being involved in, or present, during recent incidents.

“Incidents reported have included kicking doors, causing noise and disturbance, and behaviour that has had a negative impact on local residents,” a North Wales Police spokesperson said.

“Those involved have been warned that if this behaviour continues, we are prepared to use Dispersal Powers. Anyone who fails to comply with a direction to leave an area may be liable to prosecution.

“We will continue to work with residents, partner agencies and the wider community to address anti-social behaviour and keep Penrhyndeudraeth a safe place to live, work and visit.”

They added: “Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated. We will use all available powers, supported by our partners, to identify those responsible, prevent further incidents and take robust action where necessary.”
