A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital this morning after she was found semi-conscious on Borth beach.
Borth coastguards were called at 8.01am to help evacuate the woman, who was found at the shoreline with three relatives.
Coastguards transferred the casualty to a stretcher and moved her away from the incoming tide.
The coastguard rescue team also covered her with a blanket to keep her warm and monitored her until the arrival of the coastguard helicopter.
On arrival of the helicopter, a paramedic was winched down to assess the woman. An ambulance arrived on scene and the team were join by two ambulance technicians.
The decision was made to transfer the woman to Bronglais Hospital via helicopter.
Aberystwyth Coastguard were waiting at the helicopter landing site at Blaendolau Playing Fields, Llanbadarn Fawr, to assist with the transfer to a waiting ambulance.
All equipment was cleared from the beach and Borth Coastguard returned to station.
