A guesthouse in Barmouth has raised over £1,600 for the local branch of the RNLI.
Ocean Drive guest house raised £1,636.45 for the Barmouth station by asking guests to donate to the worthy cause.
It is the second year running that owners Sarah and Glenn Radford have raised money for the RNLI.
The couple came up with the idea of asking their guests, on checking out, to donate to Barmouth RNLI in return for being entered into a draw to win a free two-night stay in a room of their choice the following year.
Sarah said: “The draw is completely voluntary, but our guests are incredibly generous as they know the importance of having the RNLI in a coastal community and often see the volunteer crew launching on exercise or a shout.
“The gentleman who was drawn this year was delighted and has already booked his next visit.”
Coxswain Peter Davies who had the task of drawing the winning ticket said: “Thank you to Sarah and Glenn on their amazing contribution again this year.
“It really helps to kick start a new fundraising year and is very much appreciated by us all at the boathouse.”
