Pool fund-raiser
As a way of raising funds to support the Harlech Pool there is to be a magic comedy show presented by Paul Ray who has twice won the British Magic Comedy award with his close up magic and his comedy music impressions.
The evening will include a supper and will be held at the Dragon Theatre Arts Room on Sunday, 1 November. All proceeds to go to Harlech Pool
Council cuts
There will be a drop-in session in Barmouth on 5 November at the Dragon Theatre between 2pm and 4pm, where people can let the council know their views about impending Gwynedd Council cuts in person.
There is also a questionnaire online, or in paper format.
Under threat is access to Barmouth bridge and tourism and business services, amongst others.
St John’s & St David’s
Following another busy week, the congregations of St John’s & St David’s have raised £190 towards the Christian Aid Refugee Appeal and £120 towards the North Wales Refugee Support Group who are currently on their way to Calais with three vans full of supplies.
Sunday’s joyful Baptism service at St John’s welcomed baby Ocean Patricia Violet, daughter of Lee and Kristie Corbett into the family of the church.
The congregation wish them and the godparents well for the future.
Upcoming events at St John’s include a Messy Church event on 4 November and a fund-raising thank-you party at St John’s for those that have organised fund-raising events and donated funds towards repairing the clock.
The party will begin at 6.30pm on 5 November and a tour of the clock will also be available during the evening.
Buffs club
The Buffs club is offering soup and a roll at the club following the service at St John’s and the ceremony at the war memorial on Sunday, 8 November.
