Aberaeron Football Club is helping to make football more accessible to local children through its equipment library.

The library is giving young players the opportunity to borrow football boots and other essential equipment.

Announcing the boot library scheme, the club said: “With the current economic climate putting increasing pressure on family finances, the cost of football boots, shin pads, clothing and other equipment can be a significant barrier for parents.

“For some families, buying a new pair of boots every time a child grows can make it difficult for children to start—or continue—playing sport for their local team.”

The Equipment Library aims to provide a simple solution: share, reuse and play.

The club is appealing to families and members who have good-quality football equipment that is no longer being used.

Clean football boots in good condition are particularly welcome, along with other suitable items such as shin pads, football clothing and goalkeeper gloves.

The initiative means that equipment can be passed on to another young player rather than sitting unused at home.

The library is available to all club members throughout the year.

If you have football boots or other equipment that you would like to donate, or if your child could benefit from borrowing equipment from the Boot Library, please contact Aberaeron Football Club through the club’s social media channels.
