AN ACRIMONIOUS row has broken out between two traders in Dolgellau over a shop sign.
Strong words have been exchanged between the owner of one of the town’s newest shops, the VAPE Shop, which sell e-cigarette equipment, and one of Dolgellau’s more established premises Guinevere, a gift shop on Eldon Square.
One shop owner has accused the other of being ‘needlessly aggressive’ whilst the other maintains the whole saga is “a storm in a teacup”.
Last week VAPE Shop proprietor Sam Lowe, 21, placed his sign inside Eldon Square advertising his new company but was surprised when a fellow business owner “stormed” into his shop demanding its removal.
The offending sign was leaning against one of arches of Ty Siamas which is administrated by the Snowdonia National Park Authority, close to the gift shop’s entrance.
“I didn’t think much of it when I put the sign up, I thought if there was a problem I’d just take it down again,” Mr Lowe told the Cambrian News.
“However it wasn’t long before the guy who owns Guinevere came storming in and without saying hello or anything, told me to take down the sign or he’d ‘take it down himself’.
“I was slightly taken aback by his attitude, he was aggressive and staring at me intensely throughout.”
