Over 20 Ceredigion establishments have been awarded a five-out-of-five food hygiene rating by the Food Standards Agency.

A total of 21 restaurants, cafes, canteens, bars and takeaways were handed new ratings following assessment in the last month or so.

The following businesses were handed the five-out-of-five rating:

Budgies Bar & Restaurant at the Penrhiwllan Inn, New Quay; Holdens@cafe1176 Cardigan Castle; Victoria Inn, Borth; Caffi Patio, Llangrannog; Mash And Barrel & Livelounge at Quay West Holiday Park, New Quay; Caesars Cafe, Aberystwyth; The Carlton, Aberystwyth; Boathouse Bar & Restaurant at Brynowen Holiday Centre, Borth; Cardigan Bay Brownies T/A ‘PANTRI’, Cardigan; Poppys at Newmans Garden Centre, Capel Dewi; Sophie’s Cafe, Aberystwyth; The Black Lion, Llanbadarn Fawr; The Silver Mountain Experience, Ponterwyd; Sands Bistro, Borth; The Mulberry Bush, Lampeter; Costa Ltd at Halifax Plc 5 Great Darkgate Street, Aberystwyth; Little Italy, Aberystwyth; Costa Coffee at Next, Llanbadarn Fawr; Tom’s of Tregaron, Tregaron; Pilbach Holiday Park (Club House, Rhydlewis; Cooks at Quay West Holiday Park, New Quay.

And Siop Gacennau Gwen’s Cakes, Tregaron was given a four-out-of-five rating.
