A FORMER Aberystwyth school pupil has shown off her cake-making skills on national television this Christmas.
Chloe Tedaldi, who runs Chloe’s Cakes and bakes part-time from her home in Doncaster, took part in a festive cake competition on Channel 4 show Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas, hosted by Location Location Location star Kirstie Allsopp, on Monday, 11 December.
Chloe, who has two children, is a former pupil at Ysgol Penweddig school.
The 33-year-old, who works as a maternity support worker, set up her business four years ago.
“I’ve always loved baking,” she said, “and once I’d decorated one cake I was hooked.
“I’m completely self taught and certainly love to challenge myself.
“I applied for the competition to create the best decorated Christmas cake on the show Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas last year but unfortunately didn’t get through to the final.
“I love the show so I applied again this year and made it through to the final.
“I travelled down to a small village in Devon at the beginning of October - the competition took place in the most amazing house.
“There were four of us in the final each with our original Christmas cake designs.
“We were given six hours to create our cakes. During that time Kirstie came and spoke to each of us a couple of times, she also wanted to learn about some of the techniques we were using on our cakes."
