This year sees mixed choir Cardi-Gân celebrate its 20th birthday.
The choir will mark the occasion by hosting a year of events starting with a grand concert to be held at Theatr Felinfach on Saturday, 28 September, at 7.30pm with special guests Tra Bo Dau, Rhys Meirion and Aled Wyn Davies.
Cardi-Gân choir was established in September 1999 for young adults and meets weekly at Theatr Felinfach. The founder and conductor for the first eight years was Rhian Dafydd.
Many other conductors and accompanists have been associated with the choir over the years while Rhian had a period of respite to raise a family, but she is now firmly back at the helm. The current accompanists are Wyn Maskell and Gillian Hearne.
Although not as young nowadays the members are still very much young at heart. Cardi-Gân supports a different charity each year and performs in concerts and events all over the county and beyond.
The proceeds from the concert and the money raised over the past year will be shared this year between two charities that are very close to the hearts of many of the members – Tir Dewi and RABI Cymru/Wales.
New members are welcome and following the concert in September they will be gearing up to compete in the Ceredigion 2020 National Eisteddfod.
