A community volunteer organisation is hoping to brighten up a Ceredigion town by inviting its members to design two large murals.
Caru Aber have been offered two walls, one on the side of the Fountain Inn in Trefechan and one in Llanbadarn, to house two large murals, similar to a recently finished mural on Eastgate Street.
The group is now inviting its members to take part in a competition to design the murals.
Cofounder of Caru Aber Jeff Jones said: “Caru Aber have been offered another wall similar to the one in Eastgate.
“We are asking our members to design a mural for the wall and the winner will get their design for all to see, once funding has been secured.
“Designs are to be emailed to [email protected].
“We would like the designs to be sent in before we apply for the funding is secured.
“We’ve had one business give us a donation towards the cause. We’re looking for others to see if we can fund it through local businesses, if not we’ll have to look for funding for it.
“There isn’t really any theme required, maybe Aberystwyth, the history of Aberystwyth, a thank you to key workers, that’s just some examples. It’s whatever Caru Aber members come up with. We have to insist members can take part, that way we can encourage people to become part of Caru Aber.”
Caru Aber is a “forward thinking” group of volunteers hoping to “make Aberystwyth a nicer place for locals and visitors”. The group provides an opportunity for members to “discuss any concerns or problems we have and try as a community to find solutions”.
