THE latest community news from Barmouth
Best-dressed window
LOCAL businesses are encouraged to get ready for the Best-Dressed Shop Window competition.
The mayor will be checking out all of the windows and the winner will be announced at the Christmas lights switch-on on 7 December.
Community late-night shopping
THIS long-standing annual community event is an opportunity to enjoy the festive atmosphere of the town, see the festive lights and join in all sorts of extra activities that have been organised by the town council, such as carol singing on Talbot Square, listening to Batala Bermo and hearing the church bells being rung.
All of this takes place on Thursday, 7 December. The evening will start with the bell ringers at 5.45pm.
Ysgol y Traeth
THE Friends of Ysgol y Traeth have organised a Christmas Fayre which will be held at the school on Wednesday, 29 November, between 3pm and 5pm.
There will be treats for both parents and children. Santa will be visiting, so while the grown-ups have turkey rolls with mulled wine or Baileys hot chocolate, the children will be able to visit the various stalls and craft shows.
Entry is free to all.
Christmas bingo
CHRISTMAS bingo for Ysgol y Traeth has again been organised by the Friends of the school.
The fun evening raises funds for the school and is always enjoyed by those who take part.
This year it will be on Monday, 4 December, at 6pm in the Buffs Club. This event is for adults only.
