WRTH nesau at y gwyliau cafwyd trip ffarwelio arbennig i ddisgyblion Bl 6 i Tree Tops/Zip World, ger Llanrwst. Cafodd y disgyblion brynhawn o fwynhad wrth ddefnyddio’r offer cyn ymlacio wedyn yn y caffi.
Cafwyd hefyd ginio ffarwelio arbennig yn y ffreutur gan Anti Delyth ac Anti Vicky ble bu’r ysgol gyfan yn ymuno.
Bu ddisgyblion Cyfnod Allweddol 2 ymweld â Chrocky Creek, Gaer, am eu trip eleni, tra bu dosbarthiadau’r Cyfnod Sylfaen yn ymweld â Gypsy Wood, Caernarfon.
Mae’r ysgol yn dymuno’d dda i Cerian O’Brien a adawodd ar ddiwedd y tymor gan obeithio na fydd yn ddiarth i’r ysgol.
Mae’r ysgol hefyd yn dymuno pob lwc i blant Bl 6, sef Megan, Nish, Celyn, Isaac ac Gethin, yn y Moelwyn pan ddaw Medi.
Ysgol y Moelwyn
THE Real School’s Guide 2019 has placed Ysgol y Moelwyn sixth out of the 14 Gwynedd secondary schools, but it was first across north Wales in the finances category.

Old postcards
THE football club has received a letter from Steve Lloyd, who hails from the Wrexham area, which included two old postcards posted to Richard Jones of Coedpoeth, Wrexham, stating that he had been selected to play for Blaenau FC against Penrhyn Quarry at Blaenau and Rhyl.
The postcards were both dated late 1947.
They had been sent by the then club secretary, whose surname was Pierce. His first initials were not clear but they looked like T E.
The address was Gainsborough, High Street, Blaenau.

Bowls
WITH four regular players missing, the club were beaten 7-5 at Rhos Park B on 13 July.
They played two other matches last week: at Beaumaris on Thursday where they lost 8-6 and home to Conwy on Saturday where the scores were level but the visitors won on a 7-5 aggregate.
The home winners were Gareth, Iwan, Stephen and Elwyn Jones and Mike Burgoyne.
Choir
THE Moelwyn Choir’s long list of concerts continued at Betws y Coed on Friday evening with conductor Sylvia Ann Jones, accompanist Wenna Francis Jones and Gareth Griffiths as the compère.
Town council
QUARTERLY resources committee reviews of the council accounts has been recommended for early September, December and March.
The council has confirmed that arrangements are in hand for a meeting with Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board over a business plan regarding the old physiotherapy building at Towyn Road.
Gwynedd Council was also wiling to help the town council prepare a business plan, councillors were told.
In the meantime a meeting was held at the council chambers to discuss holding a public meeting at Ysgol y Moelwyn on 6 August to discuss the council’s application to convert the old clinic at Towyn Road to a local hospice.
The council warmly welcomes anyone who would be willing to help with the application.
The Tap (Kings Head) has offered £1,300 to the council towards the cost of installing a defibrillator outside the pub.
The council also intends to install defibrillators outside Ysgol Tanygrisiau and at Ffestiniog Village Hall, and seek permission to install one on a freight carrier’s premises at Manod.
Blaenau in Bloom
PRESENTATIONS to the many winners of the different gardens will take place this Sunday afternoon at St David’s Church Hall.
Church
AFTER months of construction work on the inside and outside of the St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, it was officially reopened on Sunday with a service from the Rt Rev Bishop Peter Brignall and the Bishop Emirates Rt Rev Edwin Regan.
Dog and pet show
A SUCCESSFUL afternoon at St David’s Church on 14 July was enjoyed by many at the annual dog show this year.
Prettiest bitch was won by Sooty, owned by David Taylor, while most handsome dog went to Bruno, owned by Joan Halton.
Scruffiest dog went to Polly, owned by Terrence, and best crossbreed was awarded to Tia, owned by Liz Wigmore.
Timmy took the prize for best trick, Tink was the dog the judge wanted to take home, Teddy had the waggiest tail award and Sooty took prizes for both the best rescue dog and best in show.
Thanks were given to judge Bethan Lloyd of Pawfect Dog Grooming Bronaber and Carole Moore of the pet shop in Blaenau who judged the small pets photo competition.
Thanks also go to the members of St David’s Church for organising the event and for everyone’s hard work on the day.
“We are grateful to the Co-op, Blaenau and the many generous people who donated food and prizes,” a spokesperson said.
“We look forward to holding the event again next year.”
Trains
AFTER months without a train service on the Vale of Conwy branch line following flooding in March, trains will arrive back in Blaenau on Wednesday having been in service from the coast to Llanrwst since 18 July.
A special steam train from Preston was due last Tuesday but was cancelled.
To celebrate the reopening of the line a steam train will come to Blaenau from Chester on Saturday, 3 August.

THE town council has permitted the following planning applications: extension and alterations at 4 Richmond Terrace; retrospective application to retain a single-storey extension to the rear of T? Ddol, 2 Glandwr.
