BU disgylbion Bl 10 a’r adran Addysg Grefyddol yn codi arian a chynnyrch tuag at Banc Bwyd Blaenau cyn y Nadolig.
Casglwyd llu o fwyd a £139.15 ar gyfer yr achos.
Cafodd Haf Jones a Ioan Hughes eu ethol fel prif ddisgyblion yr ysgol, a Melangell Williams, Osian Evans, a Ben Buckley eu ethol fel dirprwyon.
Ysgol Maenofferen
AR ddechrau blwyddyn newydd sbon, dyma edrych yn ôl ar ddigwyddiadau olaf 2019 Ysgol Maenofferen.
Sioe Nadolig a Gwasanaeth Nadolig: Wedi’r holl ymarfer, daeth hi’n amser perfformio unwaith eto. Eleni, roedd plant y Cyfnod Sylfaen yn cyflwyno gwasanaeth Nadolig draw yng Nghapel Bowydd ac roeddynt yn ddigon o sioe!
Yn neuadd yr ysgol oedd perfformiad y plant hynaf – sioe ‘Pantolig’ oedd yn plethu stori Sinderela gyda stori Geni’r Iesu.
Panto: Wel am brynhawn llawn hwyl oedd hwn! Llond dau fws o blant, athrawon a chymorthyddion yn teithio i Landudno i chwerthin, bwyta popcorn a gweiddi, it’s behind you!
Cinio Nadolig: Unwaith eto, llwyddod Anti Dawn a merched y gegin i baratoi gwledd Nadoligaidd ar eu cyfer. Llond plât o dwrci, llysiau, stwffin, greifi a moch mewn blancedi! Ac oes doedd hynny ddim yn ddigon i lenwi eu boliau, pwdin Nadolig a saws gwyn hyfryd i ddilyn!
Rhoddion: Diolchwyd i Laura May Anderson am drefnu fod pob un o blant Ysgol Maenofferen yn derbyn fferins Nadolig eto eleni.
Part?on: Roedd cyffro mawr yn yr ysgol wrth i’r part?on Nadolig gael eu cynnal â phawb wedi dod i’r ysgol wedi gwisgo’n smart.
Disgo, danteithion a gemau gafodd plant CA2 tra roedd plant y Cyfnod Sylfaen yn lwcus iawn o gael Siôn Corn ei hun yn picio draw i ddathlu gyda hwy.
Nosweithiau sinema/disgo Nadolig: Trefnwyd y Cyngor Ysgol gweithgareddau ar ôl ysgol difyr i’r disgyblion – nosweithiau ffilm, popcorn a phyjamas ar gyfer plant CA2 a disgo Nadolig ar gyfer y plant Derbyn, Bl 1 a Bl 2.
Services
HOLY Cross: Mass at 6pm on Saturday with Fr Shaji Punnati.
St Mary Magdalene: Mass at 11am with Fr Shaji Punnati.
Manod Orthodox: Third and Sixth Canonical Hours at 10am followed by the Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom.
St Michael’s: Morning service at 9.30am.
St David’s: Morning service at 11am.
Bethesda: Rev Anita Ephraim at 10am on 5 January.
Sports
BLAENAU Amateurs FC were beaten 11-1 by Denbigh on 21 December and were at Nantlle Vale on the 28th at Prestatyn Sports.
They are home to Llandudno Albion on 4 January.
Bro Ffestiniog XV were home to Bala on 28 December.
Clerk
THE town council has accepted the recommendations of the staffing working group and to appoint Eirian Barkess as the deputy clerk of the town council on a permanent basis.
At present there is no information about who will take over as clerk of the council pending Ann Coxon leaving the post in March.
Whoever takes that post must be a fluent Welsh speaker.
Lights
IT has been stated that the council spent a budget of £15,000 on the area’s Christmas lights this year.
Choir
THE Moelwyn Male Choir, conducted by Sylvia Ann Jones and accompanist Wenna Francis Jones, ended their busy year of engagements with a concert of carols and other songs at Betws y Coed on the Friday before Christmas.
Over the year, they raised £1,000 for the Welsh Air Ambulance and are already raising more money for a cancer charity.
After a few weeks break, the choir will be back in rehearsals.
Donations
THE town council has donated £400 to the Blaenau Bendigedig Group and £500 to the PBP swimming Club.
Fields
AFTER receiving a letter from Gwynedd Council which asked the town council if it was interested in taking responsibility for the Pengwndwn and Tai Gelli playing fields, which are the only two playing fields in the area that are not the responsibility of the town council, it was resolved that the local councillors look at the condition of the fields and to discuss the proposal at a town council amenities committee meeting.
Cylch
CLLR Erwyn Jones attended a meeting with Cylch Meithrin Blaenau Ffestiniog, where an update was given on the future of the Cylch.
He said that the group is in discussion with outside agencies interested in running the Cylch.
Damage
THERE has been damage to the swing seats at Tanygrisiau playing field and in the park.
The council clerk has been in contact with G L Jones to get the seats repaired as soon as possible.
Gallery
THE Maenofferen Gallery hosts an exhibition by members of the Gweithdy until 11 January and admission is free during the library’s opening hours.
