Costa Coffee has released an update on its current and upcoming stores in Ceredigion.

The coffee company is in the middle of building a drive-thru store on the Parc y Llyn retail in Llanbadarn Fawr, Aberystwyth, where a Burger King will open later on Thursday, 12 November.

The new Costa Coffee will be situated just over the road from the company’s well-established Costa Coffee in the upstairs area of Next, leaving people wondering what will happen to that outlet when the new, larger one opens.

The ‘Cambrian News’ reached out to the company for an update and a Costa Coffee spokesperson revealed more information about both sites.

The spokesperson said: “We’re thrilled to be opening our new Costa Coffee Drive Thru store in Parc y Llyn Retail Park in Aberystwyth early next year.”

The spokesperson said there are currently no plans to close our Costa Coffee store in Next, Parc y Llyn Retail Park in Aberystwyth.

The news comes as a fast food restaurant relaunching itself in Ceredigion this month confirmed the exact date it will open.

Burger King will open a new restaurant at Morrisons petrol station in Llanbadarn Fawr, and work to develop the site is almost complete.

The fast food company has hired 20 new members of staff to operate the site, which will open its doors for the first time next week.

A Burger King spokesperson said: "Burger King® UK can confirm that Aberystwyth will become a new home to the Whopper®, opening its doors on Thursday, 12 November”.

Aberystwyth used to have a Burger King restaurant on Terrace Road, where KFC is now situated.

There are currently no other Burger King branches in Ceredigion.
