An Aberystwyth man has been fined after being caught driving at 88mph on the Newtown bypass.

Llanelli Magistrates’ Court heard on 18 March that Martin Ashley Janes, of Bryneithyn, Llanbadarn Road, was clocked by police laser speeding in a BMW 630i at 88mph on the 60mph Newtown bypass on 22 August last year.

The 58-year-old was fined £500 and handed six penalty points on his licence.

He must also pay £90 costs and a surcharge of £200.
