An Aberystwyth man has appeared in court charged with attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

Rhys Williams, of Penmorfa, North Road, appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 2 September.

The 33-year-old is charged with attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child in Aberystwyth on 4 March last year.

No plea was entered at the hearing.

Williams is next due to appear before Swansea Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 2 October.

He was remanded on unconditional bail by magistrates until that date.
