An Aberystwyth man has been handed a conditional discharge by magistrates for having a banned breed of dog.

Gary Walters, of Room 12, Cardigan Bay Guest House, 63 Marine Terrace, appeared before Aberystwyth magistrates on 16 October.

The 50-year-old pleaded guilty to possessing or having custody of a Bully XL named Bozo on 6 September in Aberystwyth.

Walters was handed a 12 month conditional discharge while a contingent destruction order was made for the dog unless an exemption can be proven.
