An Eglwyswrw man has been banned from the road for 17 months for drug driving near Cardigan.

Mark Allen, of 9 Maes Hafren, appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 23 October.

The court heard that the 37-year-old was caught driving with benzoylecgonine – the major metabolite of cocaine – in his system on the A487 near Llantood on 13 May.

Allen was disqualified from driving for 17 months and ordered to undertake rehabilitation.

He must also pay £85 costs and a £114 surcharge.
