A man who admitted stealing charity boxes from an Aberystwyth butcher shop and stealing four times from Aberystwyth supermarkets has denied another 12 thefts.

Luke Sumner, of no fixed abode, appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 16 September.

The 23-year-old pleaded guilty to a burglary of Rattray butchers on 29 August, jointly with another, where three charity boxes were stolen.

Sumner also admitted stealing meat, wine and vodka from the Tesco and Marks & Spencer stores in Aberystwyth four times between 11 July and 2 August.

Sumner pleaded not guilty to 12 other thefts involving multiple bottles of wine, cider, meat and groceries. from Tesco in Aberystwyth between 21 May and 9 July.

He is due to stand trial on 19 November.
