A Pencader driver has been fined and handed points after being caught speeding at 85mph on the A48 overpass near Pensarn.

Llanelli Magistrates’ Court heard on 27 March that Dean Stephen Thomas Gilpin, of 66 Maescader, was clocked by police laser driving an Audi TT at 85mph on the 70mph stretch of the A48 overpass in Carmarthenshire on 6 September last year.

The 38-year-old was fined £220 and handed three penalty points.

He must also pay costs of £90 and an £88 victim surcharge.
