A Silian Mercedes driver has been fined and handed points after being caught speeding at 86mph on the A40 near Brecon.

Llanelli Magistrates’ Court heard on 27 March than Stephen Coviello, of Gelliwenyn, was clocked by police laser driving a Mercedes E300 at 86mph on the 60mph stretch of road at Trecastle on 8 September last year.

The 72-year-old was fined £440 and handed five penalty points.

He must also pay costs of £90 and a £176 victim surcharge.
