Madam,

I am writing to correct two inaccuracies in your reporting of Lampeter Town Council’s April meeting which I attended on behalf of Bwyd Bendigedig Llambed/Lampeter Incredible Edible.

The proposed Incredible Edible bed in Parc yr Orsedd discussed at the meeting was conceived as a joint venture between Bwyd Bendigedig Llambed and Lampeter Brownies and, although we spoke about it as a joint venture, myself and Lucy Bird (who attended with me in March) only represented Bwyd Bendigedig at town council meetings. This had been made clear in all the correspondence that we had sent the council introducing the project.

In speaking of insurance issues at the April town council meeting, I was only referring to Bwyd Bendigedig Llambed, as the small group of volunteers. The Brownies, being a national registered charity working with children and young people, obviously have their own public liability insurance that will be in effect whenever they are working with us in Parc yr Orsedd as part of their formal Brownies meetings, and the council were aware of this.

Sadly the edible garden in Parc yr Orsedd cannot now go ahead. The first Bwyd Bendigedig/Incredible Edible bed outside the Co-op in Lampeter last year was generally welcomed, harvested and celebrated by people in town.

Yours etc, Julia Lim, Bwyd Bendigedig Llambed
