FOUR Ceredigion schools have been named as Pioneer Schools in a scheme aimed at reorganising education across Wales.
The four schools - Ysgol Bro Pedr in Lampeter, Ysgol Gymraeg and Plascrug Primary School in Aberystwyth, and Cardigan Primary School - were named by education minister Huw Lewis as amongst the 120 schools that will work on re-designing and redeveloping Wales’ new school curriculum which should be in place by 2018.
Plascrug Primary School is the only one of the four Ceredigion schools that will take part in the work into the future of the curriculum, with the other three schools all being involved in the New Deal for the Education Workforce work.
Mr Lewis said: “I am determined that our new curriculum will embody higher standards and better learning for all.
“Just last month I published ‘A curriculum for Wales, a curriculum for life’, which sets out how we will work with the profession to develop our new broad, balanced, inclusive and challenging curriculum."
