Pupils at another Ceredigion school have been told to self-isolate following the confirmation of coronavirus.
A Covid-19 case has been confirmed at Ysgol Llangwyryfon and a contact group of pupils has been told to self-isolate for 14 days as a result.
Ceredigion County Council has not divulged which age group the contact group belong to.
This is the sixth case in a Ceredigion school over the last week with pupils at Ysgol Penweddig in Aberystwyth, Ysgol Bro Pedr in Lampeter and Ysgol Ciliau Aeron all being asked to self-isolate following confirmation of a coronavirus case.
Speaking on the Llangwyryfon case this morning, a spokesperson for Ceredigion council said: “The contact group has been asked to self-isolate due to being close contacts of a confirmed Covid-19 case at the school.
“These pupils and staff must remain at home for 14 days to reduce the possible spread of the virus to family, friends and the wider community.
“Due to the strong procedures that have been put in place in the school, only one contact group is being asked to self-isolate. All parents have been contacted by the school.”
The council is urging all parents to refer their children for a test if they develop any of the symptoms, which are: a high temperature, a new continuous cough, a loss or change to sense of smell or taste.
Parents should also be aware of other symptoms early on, such as headaches, tiredness and general aches and pains usually associated with the flu.
