TWO schools from Pwllheli have got through to the national final of a competition taking place across Wales to find the most promising young business talent.

Fifteen primary schools from across north Wales took part in the regional final of the Enterprise Troopers competition, with four going through to the national final in Cardiff next month.

Two of these schools are from Pwllheli (Ysgol Pentreuchaf and Ysgol Pont y Gof), wowing the judges with their entrepreneurial flare.

They will battle it out against other young entrepreneurs from across Wales, and present their shortlisted idea to a number of Big Ideas Wales Role Models and entrepreneurs in a bid to win the national title.

Pupils from Ysgol Bro Lleu in Penygroes, and Ysgol Pen-y-Bryn in Bangor wowed the judges at the regional final of the Enterprise Troopers Competition at Llandudno’s Venue Cymru, which saw 60 pupils from 15 teams in the region showcase their innovative business ideas for the future.

The competition aims to encourage creativity and business skills in young people, and challenges pupils across Wales to develop their own business ideas ahead of a national final in Cardiff next month.

The intention being that the skills they learn will ultimately provide them with an advantage when they eventually enter the workplace, or look to establish their own businesses.

Ysgol Pentreuchaf has created cheese platters out of slate to sell to the public, while Ysgol Pont y Gof used old wooden pallets to make large Christmas tree models.
