PRIMARY age pupils at Lampeter school will not go into school tomorrow (Monday) as planned, after further cases of Covid at the school.

All pupils at Ysgol Bro Pedr, including the Primary classes will be taught remotely following further cases of Covid-19 in the school. The only pupils on the Secondary sector site will be pupils at Canolfan y Bont and some pupils with English as an Additional Language, the council announced this evening (Sunday).

The Contact Groups have been asked to self-isolate due to being close contacts of a confirmed Covid-19 case at the school. These pupils and staff must remain at home for 10 days to reduce the possible spread of the virus to family, friends and the wider community.

There are also a number of staff self-isolating, therefore due to staffing challenges and to ensure the health and safety of pupils, the whole school will close and move to distance learning from Monday, 14 December 2020 until Friday, 18 December 2020.

All parents have been contacted by the school.
