Borth band The Refreshers will play at Liverpool’s world-famous Cavern Club on 22 August.

Alex Lloyd (vocals), Paul Harwood (rhythm guitar), James Harvey (lead guitar), Jim Denny (keyboard), Rowan Smith (bass guitar) and Guy Baron (drums) regularly play at venues such as The Bank Vault and Rummers in Aberystwyth and The Magic Lantern Cinema in Tywyn.

They say the amazing opportunity to perform at the Cavern Club arose after Julia Baird, John Lennon’s sister, saw the band, was impressed by their sound and invited them to take the stage at this legendary venue.

For Alex, originally from Liverpool, this gig holds special meaning. Her mother used to frequent The Cavern in the 1960s, back when The Beatles graced the stage.
