The farmers’ choir founded by Jeremy Clarkson has released a new single, following its Britain’s Got Talent victory and appearance at this year’s Royal Welsh Show.
The 38-strong Hawkstone Farmers’ Choir released ‘Absolution’ on October 9, ahead of its debut album, ‘This Is Home’, due out on November 20.
The group performed at the Royal Welsh Show in Llanelwedd this summer, bringing its message about farming communities and rural isolation to one of Wales’s biggest agricultural events.
The choir was founded in 2025 and initially formed as part of a promotional campaign for Clarkson’s Hawkstone beer and cider brand.
It has since developed into a group highlighting the pressures faced by people working in agriculture, including loneliness and mental health challenges associated with long hours and isolated working lives.
‘Absolution’ explores the importance of stepping away from everyday pressures and reconnecting with others through conversation, laughter and singing.
The track was written and produced by Simon Gwilliam, alongside co-writer Hazell Tratt, and recorded at Real World Studios.
The release follows the choir’s success on Britain’s Got Talent, where it became the first choir to win the competition and the first musical act to take the title with an original song.
Its performance of ‘One Day Like This’ also featured on ITV’s National Television Awards, opening the ceremony at London’s O2 arena.
The choir will embark on its first UK tour in spring 2027, with dates including Swansea Grand Theatre on April 1 and Birmingham Symphony Hall on March 13.
Other venues include the London Palladium, Manchester Opera House and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
The group’s debut album, ‘This Is Home’, will be released on November 20.
The choir’s journey has highlighted how coming together through music can help people working in agriculture build friendships and find support within their communities.
