An Aberystwyth restaurant is taking part in the Fish Supper, an annual fundraising event, to raise money for the RNLI.
The Fish Supper was due to take place from 9 to 26 October, but has had to be cut short this year with lockdown returning on Friday.
The fundraising drive will be running until the end of tomorrow and it is hoped it will raise much-needed money for the town’s lifeboat crew.
The Express Café and Fish Restaurant in Aberystwyth has been taking part in the event and donating 25 per cent of all fish and chip sales on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights to the RNLI.
The importance of the event is “even greater this year” as many fundraising events have not been able to take place and income has fallen due to Covid-19.
A spokesperson for Aberystwyth RNLI said: “Aberystwyth RNLI is grateful for your support of events like the Fish Supper which raise vital funds for our lifesaving work.
“Last year, our increasingly busy volunteer lifeboat crew and lifeguards aided 41,619 people and saved 329 lives, which would not have been possible without money raised by community fundraisers.”
