UP to 100 walkers of all ages took to the Ceredigion Coastal Path over the weekend for a sponsored walk and have so far raised a staggering £16,000 towards the Peony Breast Care Unit in Llanelli.
Mother-of-two Amanda said: “All walkers did an amazing job of tackling the ups and downs of the coastal path. It was great seeing people chatting on the way to friends old and new, dotting the coastline in pink.
“Thank you to everyone who looked after another member of the team in one way or another during the day – by carrying a defibrillator; watching the back of the line or by holding someone’s hand. Many conquered personal challenges by making the walk, which is fantastic.”
In October 2015, Amanda was diagnosed with breast cancer and received her treatment at the Prince Phillip Hospital in Llanelli. To thank the unit and staff for their support, Amanda decided to organise this walk and raise as much money as she possibly could.
Amanda added: “Everyone was very generous with their time and money.
“Everyone pulled together on the day by supplying lifts to people, taking photos, taking on jobs and keeping spirits high.
