STAFF at a much-loved local hospital have been thanked for all their hard work following a festive service.
Last week saw patients, staff, committee members and the chair of Gwynedd Council join in with Christmas carols at Dolgellau Hospital, organised by the Dolgellau Branch of the League of Friends.
Dolgellau councillor Linda Morgan, who is also chair of the League of Friends, welcomed all participants to the event which was led by the Rev Patrick Slattery, a member of the League of Friends committee.
Music was provided by another committee member Martin Michell who orchestrated all those present into song.
Cllr Morgan was full of good cheer following the Christmas congregation.
“Some of the patients and staff joined us for the singing which was really nice,” she explained.
“This was followed by tea, coffee and mince pies.
“The chair of Gwynedd Council, Annwen Hughes, also attended and then she and I visited the other patients in the wards to wish them a happy Christmas and distributed cards to staff and patients.
“We are very lucky to have such a good hospital with great staff who are dedicated to the patients and are so kind and considerate at all times.
“I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the staff a happy Christmas, especially those working over the festive season.
“We are very proud of the hospital here in Dolgellau.
“Our next event for the Dolgellau League of Friends will be an auction next year, if you would like to give a contribution for us to auction to raise funds for the hospital, please let me know by calling 07709 601386.”
