AN injured walked has been airlifted in Beddgelert.
The walker, who injured their knee yesterday evening, required the assistance of Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team.
A spokesperson for the team said: “We were alerted shortly before 6pm this evening to assist a walker who had sustained a knee injury above Beddgelert.
“We deployed one team vehicle to the incident, and were joined by the South Snowdonia Search & Rescue Team who sent a further six members to assist in the operation.
“As the teams arrived on scene, thankfully the coastguard rescue helicopter from Caernarfon had become available having been committed elsewhere, and was a welcoming sight.
“The aircraft was able to evacuate the casualty and the team back to Beddgelert village, saving all a difficult and arduous carry-off.
“We wish the casualty a speedy recovery, and extend our thanks to our colleagues at SSSART for their assistance.”
