Mach and Llani students celebrate exam success

Students at Ysgol Bro Hyddgen and Llanidloes High School are celebrating another successful year of A Level results.

In Machynlleth, Bro Hyddgen Headteacher, Dafydd Jones, congratulated the students and acknowledged the contribution of the whole school community to their achievements, saying: “These are excellent results and reflect the hard work and commitment of our students, together with the support of parents and carers and the dedication of staff at Ysgol Bro Hyddgen.

“Everyone has worked together to ensure that the young people within our community have the best possible life chances as they pursue their chosen career paths.

“It is particularly pleasing to see not only the grades achieved today, but the progress that so many of our students have made. Some have exceeded challenging personal targets through perseverance, determination and a willingness to keep working hard, supported every step of the way by staff at the school. We are proud of the fabulous young adults our students have become during their time at Ysgol Bro Hyddgen.

“Their achievements are the result of a real partnership between students, staff, parents and carers. I would like to congratulate all our students and wish them the very best as they move on to university, further training or employment. I look forward very much to hearing about their continued success in the future.”

Daniel Owen, headteacher at Llanidloes High School, also congratulated pupils, saying: “These results are a testament to their determination, resilience and hard work, as well as the commitment of our outstanding staff team.

“It is splendid to see students being offered places at top universities, including Oxford, and getting onto challenging and exciting courses including medicine, biomedical sciences, engineering, aerospace engineering, philosophy, politics and economics, and theology and religion.

“We would like to thank parents’ and carers’ for the encouragement and support they have provided throughout their children’s Sixth Form journey.”
