North Wales Police will patrol a nature reserve in Barmouth to stop campfires there.

Gwynedd police said fires were set at Wern Mynach Nature Reserve adding: “Whilst we appreciate that there may be no deliberate attempt to set fire to the surrounding area, we are asking people to refrain from lighting any types of fires/BBQs, in order to prevent damage or injury to persons, property and wildlife.

“The area will now be patrolled regularly and monitored via CCTV in order to deter this behaviour.”
