A COMMUNITY council without any councillors is appealing for potential candidates to put their name forward for election before Friday.
Trefeglwys Community Council was disbanded on 4 May after its members decided en masse to not stand at the local elections in an ongoing row with a former clerk that has led to several investigations.
The issues have led to an ongoing police investigation, solicitor involvement, a One Voice Wales investigation, and two Information Commissioner investigations.
Former members of the council are continuing talks with legal advisors, the Information Commissioner and the Police and Crime Commissioner in a bid to solve the problems.
Potential candidates for a seat on the community council have until Friday to register their nominations. Trefeglwys Community Council is seeking 10 nominations for the council – six people for the Trefeglwys ward and four candidates for the Llawryglyn ward. Nominations have to be with Powys County Council at County Hall, Llandrindod Wells by 4pm on Friday.
If there are sufficient candidates for an election, one will be held on 10 August.
