A grateful Wales Air Ambulance patient has donated £5,000 to the lifesaving service that saved his life.
David Boswell, from Aberystwyth, needed the help of the Wales Air Ambulance after he suffered a bleed on his brain following a stroke.
Due to the severity of his condition David, who is a retired car mechanic, was flown from Aberystwyth to the University Hospital of Wales, in Cardiff.
David said: “I made the donation to the Wales Air Ambulance as I feel it is a wonderful cause as it saved my life. I feel that the Charity is an extremely important service to the people of Wales.”
Wales Air Ambulance’s Regional Fundraising Manager for the area, Emily Bell, recently visited the classic car enthusiast at his workshop where he presented her with the £5,000.
Although this was David’s first donation to the all-Wales Charity, he now wants to support it as much as possible after his life was saved.
Emily Bell, Wales Air Ambulance’s Regional Fundraising Manager, said: “We are incredibly grateful to David for choosing to support Wales Air Ambulance after his life was saved by the Charity medics.
“David knows firsthand how important our Charity is to the people of Wales and we are humbled that he wanted to make such a generous donation to help keep our helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.
“As a charity, we rely on public support to raise the £13 million every year, David’s donation will help us continue to deliver advanced critical care to people facing life-threatening or limb-threatening emergencies across Wales. It is wonderful to hear that in future David would like to help the Wales Air Ambulance as much as he can.
“Thank you so much, David, you will help us save more lives across our country.”
