A road remains closed this afternoon after a school bus was involved in a serious collision this morning.
Up to 13 youngsters are believed to have sustained injuries as a result of the collision in Crymych in Pembrokshire at around 8.35am this morning.
Pembrokeshire County Council has confirmed this afternoon that the bus involved was the number 636 school bus travelling on the Tenby to Crymych route.
A council spokesperson said: “All parents and guardians of young people who were travelling on this bus at the time of the collision are understood to have been contacted.
“However, any parents and guardians of young people travelling on the 636 can also call the dedicated line set up by Pembrokeshire County Council: 01437 775400.
“Only parents and guardians of the young people who were travelling on the 636 bus at the time of the incident are kindly requested to use the dedicated line above.
“The A478 remains closed and people are asked to avoid the area.”
Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed officers were on the scene near Llandissilio, adding: “The incident was reported to police at 8.35am, and the ambulance and fire services are also in attendance.
“The collision involved a motorcar and a bus carrying school children.
“A number of children received minor injuries with two taken to hospital by ambulance with what are described as minor injuries.
The road is currently closed and officers remain at the scene.”
