A FORMER Ysgol Glan y Môr pupil will take centre stage before some of the world’s most acclaimed sports stars next month.
Singer Elin Tomos, 27, will fulfil a lifelong dream this summer when she performs the Welsh National Anthem before three All Blacks vs Wales test matches in New Zealand.
The mezzo soprano will perform in front of bumper crowds in Auckland, Dunedin, as well as the Kiwi capital, Wellington.
Elin, who used to live in Pwllheli before moving to the southern hemisphere four years ago, studied music at King’s College and now works as a primary school teacher in Blenheim, a town on the north coast of New Zealand’s South Island.
Elin (pictured), who has sung with the Wales National Youth Choir previously, is currently performing in the stage show Mamma Mia in Marlborough to an audience of 600 people every night.
She told the Cambrian News: “I’m excited, for sure! I think the nerves wont hit me until last minute but I really can’t wait!
