A WALKER has been airlifted to hospital with a back injury.
The casualty had to be rescued by Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team on Wednesday, 9 February.
The team was alerted shortly after 3.30pm to assist the walker who had slipped, sustaining a back injury, in Bwlch Y Rhiwiau.
“The casualty was unable to move but was able to provide his exact location to the team who, upon their arrival, assessed the casualty and determined a helicopter evacuation was necessary,” a team spokesperson said.
“The casualty was stabilised, provided with pain relief and stretchered to a Coastguard Helicopter from St Athan who quickly arrived to assist. The casualty was airlifted to hospital for further assessment and treatment.
“We wish the casualty a speedy recovery and hope to see them in the hills again soon.”
