Wind turbines are unlikely to stop the recovery of red kites in mid Wales, new research says.
A study led by the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) into onshore wind schemes has found bird numbers would likely continue to increase, though at a slower rate.
It found that while commissioning the suite of wind farm projects currently in development might slow down the growth in the numbers of red kites, it was very unlikely to lead to national population declines in Wales.
