A YOUNG farmer from Bryncrug has won a top farming accolade.

Earlier this month during the Wales YFC Entertainment Feast, Dafydd Jones of Bryncrug YFC was awarded the title of Wales YFC Senior Member of the Year.

In front of a prestigious panel of judges – including FUW president Glyn Roberts, Pembrokeshire and past Wales YFC chairman Edna Davies and past Wales YFC chairman Iwan Meirion – Dafydd was heralded as a ‘credit to his county federation’.

Prior to competing all candidates for the senior member of the year competition are asked to complete a form, detailing their contribution to YFC as well as general information regarding themselves.

At the Entertainment Feast, all competitors then attended a formal interview with the judging panel.

The panel said that there was a “very high standard” in the competition and claimed that there is a “bright future for the organisation with members like these”.
