CARDIGAN scored five tries to beat Neyland 32-7 in the heavy mud at the King George to move up to second place in Division Three West A.
The appalling conditions, which claimed a number of matches in the division, were made light of by two teams prepared to give the ball some width and as a result the crowd were treated to some entertaining rugby.
The hosts opened the scoring with a penalty from winger Llyr Jones after 15 minutes and his team went further ahead soon after.
From a break and clever offload from outstanding scrum half Aaron Evans, full back Alun Jenkins was on hand to round things off with a try.
This was converted by Jones to put Cardigan into a comfortable lead against the strong wind.
The home side continued to dominate and it came as no surprise when they increased their lead as hard-working flanker Kieran Hurley caught the all-black defence napping with a show-and-go and he sneaked over to put Cardigan 15-0 ahead.
