An Aberaeron hotel has been included in the MICHELIN Guide’s hotel selection for a second consecutive year.

The Harbourmaster Hotel, which sits prominently on Aberaeron’s harbourfront, has retained its place in the prestigious guide for 2026.

The 13-bedroom hotel occupies the original Harbourmaster’s house and two neighbouring buildings overlooking Cardigan Bay, and also operates a popular restaurant and bar.

MICHELIN describes the hotel as combining antique and contemporary interiors, while its restaurant serves local seafood and modern Welsh dishes.

Its inclusion comes only months after the Harbourmaster welcomed Jeremy Clarkson, who subsequently gave the Ceredigion hotel a glowing write-up following his visit.

On the inclusion, Dai Morgan, General Manager at The Harbourmaster, said to Cambrian News “We’re delighted to have been recognised once again by the world-renowned MICHELIN Guide for 2026, reflecting the high standards of excellence we strive to achieve here at The Harbourmaster. This recognition is a real testament to the dedication and hard work of our wonderful team, who go above and beyond to ensure every guest receives a genuinely warm Welsh welcome and a memorable experience when they visit us at The Harbourmaster.”

The Harbourmaster has become one of Aberaeron’s best-known hospitality businesses, with its brightly coloured waterfront building occupying a prominent position beside the town’s harbour.

It is currently the only hotel in Aberaeron appearing in MICHELIN’s hotel selection. The guide assesses hotels on factors including their individual character, design, service, value and contribution to their locality.

The recognition follows the hotel’s inclusion in the 2025 selection and means it has now appeared in the guide for two consecutive years.

A new plaque confirming the Harbourmaster’s place in the 2026 selection is now on its way to Aberaeron.

The hotel said the recognition reflected the daily work of its staff and the experience it aims to provide for guests.
