Residents in the seaside village of Borth are being invited to a community event aimed at helping people prepare for potential flooding this winter and shaping future improvement projects in the village.

Organised by Borth Community Council, the meeting will be held at 7pm on Wednesday, 21 October at Borth Community Hall.

There will be short talks at 7pm on the work of the village's team of voluntary Flood Wardens, who provide a vital link between residents, Natural Resources Wales and the emergency services.

The wardens can give advice on actions that can be taken to prepare for flood risks, including how to register for flood alerts and draw up a personal flood plan. They also play an important role in supporting residents who may need assistance and communicating important information during active flood incidents.

The meeting will also provide an opportunity for residents to hear from members of Borth Community Council, who will outline plans for some improvements in the village – such as upgrading the playground area and boat park - and invite local people to share their views and priorities for the future.

All residents are welcome to attend either for the short talks at 7pm or call in anytime before 8.30pm to speak to members of the community council and other local organisations about village matters. No booking is required and tea and coffee will be provided.
