Community Council
LLANRHYSTUD Community Council met on 4 April, to discuss the correspondence and matters raised by the community.
Papers received from Ceredigion County Council included: an outline of the strategy for housing; a proposal to introduce a scheme for registering or licensing dogs in the hope that its introduction would encourage some owners to be more responsible in picking up after their dogs; notice of a meeting for councillors about the preparation of ‘Place Plans’; a grant for work in the play area.
This work should start before the end of April, weather permitting.
A copy of the county council’s reply to Elin Jones AM was read.
She had written to the county council in support of the community council’s efforts to make the B4337 safer for pedestrians.
A site meeting will be arranged to look at the possibility of a footpath to bypass the non-pavement part of the B4337.
A reminder was given that the three-year fixed price insurance contract would end this June and it was decided to look for quotes to compare with the renewal premium when it was received.
Permission was given for the clerk to book a place on the joint SLLC and One Voice Wales conference to be held in Llandrindod in May.
Two appeals were received.
The one from the Wales Air Ambulance for Children will be considered at the end of the year.
The second from Cylch Meithrin Glan y Môr will receive a donation of £100 under S137 powers.
A thank you letter for the recent donation was received from the Memorial Hall committee.
A quarterly budget and end of year financial position was reported on. Two matters were raised with Ceredigion County Council, one asking them to replace the nameplate at the entrance to Cwm Wyre and one asking that the tree overhanging the road in Cwm Mabws be cut back.
The next meeting is on 2 May at 8pm in the Memorial Hall.
The meeting will begin with the AGM and followed by the regular monthly meeting.
